If anyone forces you to go a mile, go with him two miles. (Matthew 5:41 NIV)
It is important for me to have patience with others. When I am ministering to a person, they may be unwilling to listen at that moment. It is up to me to wait until they are ready to move forward.
I may wait a long time before they decide to change. I walk with them one mile right where they are on their journey. I may grow weary along the way, but if they need me to walk with them further than one mile, I need to be willing to endure along with them.
I have learned from walking with others who are hurting. I have learned their story and they have learned mine. We have both benefited.
Be Encouraged! If you are helping someone on their spiritual journey, ask God for strength. He will give you all that you need along the way.
