For by grace, you have been saved by faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, that no one should boast. (Ephesians 2:8-9 NASB)
Recently, I have been guiding and encouraging a young lady who is trying to get an apartment out of state. She has become frustrated of all the qualifying factors: you must make three times your monthly rent, which she was shy three hundred dollars, you need first month, last month deposit, and two hundred to cover the application fee. What a challenge just to rent a nice apartment?
I am thankful that through God’s grace I have been saved. I did not have to work or qualify to obtain grace. It is the gift of God. I cannot earn it by any amount of work that I may do.
It is also by faith in God that this young lady will find the right home for herself. As she puts her trust in God, He will guide her to her new dwelling, and it will be worth the wait.
