Recently, I had a call from a young friend who is caring for her dad, and is now in the hospital. She has faithfully been there all-night waiting for him to have further tests. She sounds optimistic but I am sure she is concerned about his well-being.
I am told in God’s word to have compassion for the hurting and downtrodden. I am to feel their pain and comfort them where I can.
Where do you see others in pain or suffering from poverty? I encourage you to help where you can.
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God. (I Corinthians 1:3-4 NIV)
