For I know the plans that I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for prosperity and not for disaster, to give you hope and a future. (NASB)
In life we are given work assignments. We apply for a job and if hired, the boss gives us our job assignment. If we go to school to become a lawyer, we are taught how this new assignment as an attorney works. When we graduate, we take on an assignment for each client.
God gives us assignments too. Some last a lifetime and others are short ones. We may be called by God to be an encourager in the body of Christ. Our assignment might take us to a small body to share a message from time to time; to encourage and build up the body, but it may not be a long or lifetime assignment.
God may call us there for a short season and then move us on. It is important to know when the Holy Spirit is leading us out. It is important to know when our assignment has been completed.
If we stay longer than the time God has allotted, we would be trying to lead on our own and that is not good. God knows the plans and times He has for us to finish the assignment. Be encouraged and follow God’s plans.
