Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. (James 1:2-3 NASB)
What is endurance? Is it not resisting giving up during a difficult trial or situation? It is sometimes difficult to not give up in the brink of a storm. The raging winds seem too fierce for you to hang on but, then inner strength that seems to come from nowhere breaks through and you can endure.
When I face those long terrifying days of trial, my faith in God is tested. Will I bend or break, or will I continue to put my trust in a God I cannot, see? I am learning to trust because I keep desperately hanging on to God. I keep crying out to him like an infant who cries for his mother to feed and care for him.
Be encouraged! If you are facing fierce trials and it feels like you will not see the end, hang on tight. Keep crying out to a faithful God who hears and answers.
