(Do you know that those who run in a race all run, but only one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you win. I Corinthians 9:24)
Who doesn’t won’t to win a race? I do. When I ran track as a youth, I prepared to win. I knew there was always going to be another who was faster, but I knew it took hard work to finish well.
As a follower of Jesus, I want to know Him more. I want to understand His word and learn how to walk in a world where all do not believe in the God of the bible. I want to please Him in all I think and do.
In this race of life, the only way to finish well is to prepare. So, I must fix my mind on God’s word, study it and apply it. I must learn to endure hardships with the right attitude. I understand the need to extend grace to others, but I must forgive continually, even when what happens to me is not fair.
I must choose to love because it is the greatest gift of all. God’s word tells me that it covers a multitude of sins and unselfishly seeks the good for others. (I Peter 4:8)
Run to win!
