Anxiety weighs down the heart, but a kind word cheers it up. (NIV)
Words have power. They can either build up or tear down. We all can be guilty of using cutting words. Those words do not bring a smile but a tear. You may not see the tear in the eye of the one who experienced those harsh words, but inside they wept.
Recently, I received a kind word from a family member. I felt appreciated and built up. It was not expected at all. God knows how to cheer us up by using someone to do His work. As God’s children, He wants to use us to give encouragement. We never know when someone needs a kind word to help them get through the day.
Anxiety wears us down so when you have the opportunity, choose to speak kind words.
