Joy and Strength-Nehemiah 8:10 (ESV)

“Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.” (Nehemiah 8:10 ESV)

Grief, from losing a loved one, is difficult. No one can say how long someone should grieve but there comes a time when we must press on. Sorrow may last for the night, but joy comes in the morning. (Psalm 30:5 NIV)

How can we have joy during our sorrow? Many find it hard, but we can decide to turn our focus on all the good memories we may have had. We can look for any positive things that have come. We can decide to change anything in our lives that may not be good. We can try and better ourselves in small ways.

If we turn to God during our sorrow, He will comfort and bring us joy. That may be hard to believe but it is true. When you look back over this time of grief, you will see God’s great mercy amid the sorrow.

Be Encouraged! When grief rains down, God can give you a rainbow of hope.
