But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature. Because I have rejected him. For the Lord sees not as man sees; man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.” (Samuel 16:7 ESV)
How often have we looked at a book and its title to only put it aside because the title and the book’s appearance was not appealing? We did not bother to look inside to read a portion of its contents.
We often do this to people we meet. We look at them, and perhaps carry on a small conversation, before we toss them aside as uninteresting.
Be Encouraged! Sometimes we miss opportunities for a meaningful friendship to blossom because we judged the outside. Pray and seek God’s guidance.
