The Fruit of Self-Control- Galatians 5:22 (NASB)

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. (Galatians 5:22)

How many see the chaos of this world? Do we see people reaching for fulfillment without any restraint? Greed has taken over many.

Accumulating more appears to be the go-to. We need a bigger house; we need more credit cards to buy more things. We need a summer home that we cannot afford and do not have the time to enjoy because we are too busy running from one experience to the next.

Where is the self-control that helps us to say no? No to all the things that steal our joy because we are never satisfied with what we have.

Self-control is one of the fruits of the spirit. We all need this fruit to live a happy, healthy life. It keeps us balanced in what is truly important. Let ask the Holy Spirit to show each of us where we need more self-control in our lives. We may be surprised that this fruit does not operate in our lives as much as the others. Be encouraged we can all practice self-control.
