Pray without ceasing; in everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. (I Thessalonians 5:17-18 NASB)
I heard the word intentional, in my spirit today, and it got me thinking. How can I make positive choices to impact someone today. Can I pay it forward in the drive through restaurant? Can I mow my neighbor’s lawn without her asking?
I want to have good intentions and act on it. Maybe I could donate backpacks at the beginning of the school year for students in need, paint an elderly friends’ porch, pay for a child to go to camp or sit with a sick friend.
I can have a lot of good intentions, but if I do not put them into action, it is pointless. Somebody else may come along and do exactly what I had intended to do, and I will feel sad.
When I get up in the morning, I reach for my devotion and spend time reflecting. I gain insight and inspiration when I am intentional.
I am told to pray without ceasing and give thanks in all things, when I do, I am following God’s plan. I am becoming more and more like Christ and that is the goal.
