I Must Love My Neighbor- (Luke 10:27 NASB)

“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all mind, and your neighbor as yourself.” (Luke 10:27 NASB)

She was in need, but she was not my next-door neighbor. She found herself needing a job. She had not worked in many years and was concerned that no one would give her a chance.

How could I look the other way? She was family. I was determined to help in any way I could. I took my trusty computer and off I went.

I may think that loving my neighbor means those who live beside me in the neighborhood, but that is not so. My neighbor is the one in whom God puts in my path. Remember the story of the good Samaritan?

A man was traveling along a road and was attacked and robbed and left for dead. Two men came upon the accident but passed by and did not help. The third man who came upon the wounded man, stopped, and took care of the man and his wounds. He even took him with him where he was lodging and nursed him. When it was time for the good Samaritan to leave, he gave the innkeeper two denarii to take care of the wounded man and he told the innkeeper that whatever more he spent for the man’s care, he would repay him.

I must love my neighbor.
