I will remember the deeds of the Lord; yes, I will remember your miracles of long ago. I will consider all your works and meditate on all your mighty deeds. (Psalm 77:11-12 NIV)
It can be easy to forget the great and mighty deeds that the Lord has done if I take my eyes off Him and go my own way. I may think all is good and for a while, it might seem that way, but it doesn’t take long before I realize something is missing.
As I read God’s word, I see all the times Israel forgot the wonderful miracles that God had done and followed other gods. The Israelites had seen God’s miracles with their own eyes, but soon forgot.
It is important that I not only remember all that God has done in the past, but I must teach my children and grandchildren to fear the Lord and to follow Him with all their heart.
