Yet those who wait upon the Lord will gain new strength; they will mount up with wings like eagles, they will run and not get tired, they will walk and not become weary. (Isaiah 40: 31
It is difficult waiting for good news. You may have a family member with a critical heart condition, and amid surgery or a child who may be off to a foreign country and you are praying, hoping to hear good news that all is well. In whatever case, waiting can be difficult.
When Elijah, the prophet, prayed that it would not rain for three and a half years, it did not rain, and the people were waiting and waiting and waiting for rain for the drought was severe. Finally, at the end of the three and a half years, Elijah prayed for water to come. (1kings 18:42-45) At first it looked like rain, a small dark cloud appeared and then finally a heavy rain.
We often need to wait on God. His timing is best. If we wait on Him, we will not grow weary. We can run and not faint. Be encouraged today. If you are waiting on something to be revealed or something to come through for you or an answer for a loved one, God is never late in answering our prayers. Do not grow weary in the waiting.
